Kavalan overseas goes for record price

Kavalan overseas goes for record price

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's domestic Tamil Nadu market must be at an all time low, after the failure of his last release Sura.

The theatres in Tamil Nadu have threatened to boycott his next release Kaavalan, if they are not compensated for Sura's loss.

But all this does not matter in the international market where Ilayathalapathy has a huge solid fan base. Now Tantra films, an overseas distributor has snapped up Vijay-Asin starrer Kaavalan at a record price.

The market buzz is that Kaavalan's FMS (overseas) rights has been sold for Rs 6 Crore to Tantra, nearly Rs 2 crore more than what the star's last film fetched ! The Vijay power at the overseas box-office is increasing with every film.

In the Indian domestic market, Kaavalan a remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard has been sold in Kerala to Thameens Films at the rate of what normal Vijay film fetches.
